You will get: Clear and beginner-friendly explanations of A2 grammar Bite-size lessons that are easy to follow Strong focus on real-life situations and speaking Great progression from A1 to A2 level Many exercises, recaps, and practice materials Helps build longer and more confident sentences Well structured units with logical flow

You already know the basics—now it’s time to upgrade your German from simple A1 sentences to real A2 communication.

In A2.1, you’ll expand your vocabulary for everyday life (family, housing, food, work, health, school, celebrations) and learn the grammar that makes you sound more natural: Perfekt variations, weil/wenn/dass, longer sentences with main + subordinate clauses, two-way prepositions, verb patterns (verb + case + preposition), reflexive verbs, and clearer use of dative vs accusative.

This course is built like a smart learning app + real teacher support: short lessons, recaps, quizzes, Übung exercises, and assignments—so you practice instantly and improve steadily.

Level: A2.1 (Advancing Beginner / Pre-Intermediate)
Perfect for: learners who finished A1 (A1.1 + A1.2) and want a structured path to Goethe-Zertifikat A2

  • Speak more confidently with longer, more complex sentences

  • Use Perfekt without “ge-” correctly (Part 1–2)

  • Talk about life experiences using Hast du schon einmal…?

  • Use weil to give clear reasons (and place the verb correctly)

  • Describe family structures and modern family life naturally

  • Express living situations and use bei + dative correctly

  • Master two-way prepositions (Wechselpräpositionen) and know when to use accusative vs dative

  • Use common patterns like Verb + preposition + case (mit, für, an, auf, über…)

  • Understand als vs wenn + use dass correctly

  • Strengthen dative & accusative (overview + real examples)

A2 is where German starts to feel powerful. You stop speaking in short beginner phrases and begin forming real conversations—with reasons, opinions, experiences, and longer sentences that actually sound German.

Best Way to Learn German Language: Advancing Beginner (A2.1) is designed for learners who already completed A1 and want the next clear step toward (pre-)intermediate fluency. The course follows a motivating format: bite-size lessons that are easy to fit into your schedule, plus recaps, quizzes, Übung exercises, and assignments so you practice immediately and remember faster.

You’ll begin with personal topics like family and living situations while improving essential grammar. You’ll learn how to talk about past experiences using Perfekt—including the important special case Perfekt without “ge-”—and you’ll start expressing ideas more naturally with connectors like weil (because). You’ll also practice real speaking patterns such as “Hast du schon einmal…?” to discuss experiences in everyday conversations.

Next, you’ll level up your “real-life German” with moving and housing topics: furniture, neighbors, polite requests, and the grammar you need to describe locations and movement—especially two-way prepositions (Wechselpräpositionen). You’ll learn when German uses accusative vs dative depending on “movement vs location,” and you’ll practice common patterns like verb + preposition + case, which are essential for A2 fluency.

The course also covers practical topics like food in Germany, shopping, recipes, and daily habits, while strengthening sentence-building tools (frequency words, question structures, and useful determiners like welcher/welche/welches). Then you’ll move into workplace language with themes like a new job, advice, and communication—supported by grammar lessons on wenn/dann, main and subordinate clauses, and long sentence structure.

Finally, you’ll broaden your A2 skill set with health and fitness vocabulary, reflexive verbs, education topics, modal verbs in the past, and key connectors like dass—plus the crucial difference between als vs wenn.

By the end of A2.1, you’ll be able to speak with more confidence, write more naturally, and prepare effectively for the Goethe-Zertifikat A2 with a stronger, clearer foundation.
